One reason was that the person may not want to know if something if wrong with their health, especially if there are no medicines to cure the disease. We also had some reasons for not supporting the idea of doctors telling their patients the truth. I believe it is the right thing to do, to tell a person that their life may be in risk, and possibly they can search for answers on their own for a cure. People may be able to appreciate their lives more or do something ahead of time, if they knew that they had a serious condition. People should have the right to know, because they can prepare their future or plans for there upcoming years. Whether there is a cure for the disease or not, we believe people should have the right to know if they are in risk. We choose to support the idea of doctors being able to tell their patients if they have a disease or are in risk of one due to their genes. We also agreed and believed in individualism, it should be the person’s choice whether they want to know. For the article, "Know your Enemy, We tell Ourselves", my partner and I were in favor of people knowing if they may be in risk to a disease because of their genes, but we also have reasons of why we are against it.
